PROTECTION ~ Illustration print

It was inspired by a photograph by Mira Mirabilia.
I sold the original for my solo exhibition in Montreal. From what people told me, it was the most loved drawing i did for the exhibition. There's an aura of calm and stillness, and of infinite & cosmic loving. The body is litterally opening up, as the character is opening her heart to life and give in to confidence in how things unfurl. Her position is somewhat foetal, as if she is making one with her surrounding. The background is black as the Infinite of before and after our lives and she feels the Peace of Nothingness.
I needed to create pictures to calm me, give me hope and confidence in life and to feel protected by them. This is the story i made in my head when i was creating it, but this picture can have a different meaning to you :)
